The Animal Clinic was established in 1936, it has been in continuous operations since then and is the oldest veterinary clinic on Galveston Island. The clinics location allows us a clear view of the sand and surf of the Gulf and we believe that this allows us to represent Galveston in the most appropriate way, in a historic house right on the beach.

The clinic was awarded the Texas Heritage Award from the TVMA for the ongoing service to our community and the historic buildings we occupy. These offer a very comfortable and homey environment that our clients love, in addition to exceptional veterinary care. We offer a separate cat-only clinic right next door to our main building, where cats can receive the specialized treatment they deserve.

We work closely with the Galveston Island Humane Society and pride ourselves in the community service we provide by helping animals in need; we care deeply for our community. We treat dogs and cats, as well as exotics and small farm animals kept as pets.
Services
The Cat Clinic
Report
At the Animal Clinic we realize that our feline patients have special needs and appreciate a more individualized treatment, which is why we offer a separate cat-only clinic.
The Cat Clinic is located right next door to our main building.
It's the only, feline only practice on the island!
Here cats can receive the specialized treatment they deserve in a more peaceful cat friendly environment.
All of our Veterinarians are members of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and would love to meet your feline friend at our Cat Clinic.
Wellness and Sick Visits
Report
At The Animal Clinic of Galveston we believe that regular checkups and wellness exams are critical to your pet's well-being.
These wellness exams give us a chance to evaluate the overall health of your pet while also giving us a baseline for their own unique bodies and tendencies.
Not only do these exams keep us up-to-date with your pet's health, they also allow us to detect potential problems before they become serious.
Your pet will be thoroughly examined by a veterinarian and this checkup will give us vital information to help keep your pet healthy.
Surgery
Report
We are proud to provide Galveston and surrounding communities with state-of-the-art veterinary surgical procedures.
We believe in utilizing the highest level of medical technology, and our surgeons are experienced and highly trained.
We also realize that it can be stressful to have your pet undergo surgery.
We want to assure you that your pet is in good hands, and that we will do everything to provide the best care possible.
Our Client Liaison is the point of contact and will communicate with you about the things you need to know before, during, and after your pet's surgery.
Dentistry
Report
Dental care is vital to the overall health of any animal.
Dental disease can lead to health issues with the heart, liver, and kidneys, and can affect the entire body through the bloodstream.
In fact, 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats over three years of age suffer from some form of dental disease, making it the most common pet health issue among our pet population.
In spite of these disturbing facts, many pet owners are not aware of the importance of dental care to their pet's health.
There are a lot of different ways to improve your pet's dental hygiene, including home brushing, dental chews, and regular inspection.
Digital Radiography
Report
At The Animal Clinic in Galveston, TX we are proud to be on the cutting edge of medical technology.
Radiology is a technique and diagnostic tool that we use to look inside the body in a completely non-invasive way.
X-rays allow us to create images of all the body's organs.
In other words, the use of radiology gives us a view of the internal organs in your pet's body that we otherwise could not see.
It's an important diagnostic tool that helps veterinarians detect and prevent illness.
The use of radiology is safe and our entire staff is highly trained.
