About Us
Report
Eastern Equine Associates Mobile Veterinary Service is a mobile equine and farm animal veterinary practice started by Emily M Gilmette, DVM in the New Bern area in 2009.
We began simple, with a small hand-me-down pickup truck and aging equipment, but we went to work providing the best possible care for the horses in and around the New Bern area.
Over the years the practice has gained traction, horses have been treated and helped, and the client base has expanded and continues to grow.
New veterinarians have been added to assist in reaching and treating each horse with quality care and medicine.

Acupuncture Therapy
Report
Dr. Rebecca White is excited to be adding acupuncture therapies to our services.
She has graduated from the TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) equine basic course at the Chi Institute in Reddick, FL.
The following are some frequently asked questions about TCVM, if you have any other questions about our acupuncture services, or to schedule an appointment for your animal please contact our office.
Acupuncture usually involves the insertion of thin sterile needles into discrete, specific points on the body to cause a therapeutic effect.
Chiropractic Care
Report
When a chiropractor evaluates an animal, they are looking for subluxations along the spine -also known as vertebral subluxation complexes or VSCs.
A VSC is a joint that is not moving normally, in other words, is "fixed" or "stuck".
VSC's not only affect an animal's biomechanics (causes them not to move properly), but also impacts local soft tissue, neuromuscular, and vascular tissues.
Because almost all neurologic input to the brain and central nervous system comes from movement, the effects of VSC's on an animal's body can be profound.
