I've been bringing my cats to Dr. Abel and the folks at Harper for over two years now. They are a great clinic: professional, friendly, reasonably priced--you couldn't ask for more. If you want your pets well taken care of, take them to Harper. Fantastic staff and service. We were traveling up from Ohio for a trial and realized that one of our dogs had a 4 inch laceration behind her front leg.
Being 3:45 on a Friday we were concerned about being forced to see an emergency vet. They got us in at 5:00. 45 minutes and 20 staples later we were on our way.

Dominique started working at Harper Animal Hospital in 2009 and finds the job very rewarding.
She loves interacting with the patients as well as the clients.
Dominique started riding horses when she was six years old and knew from then on that she wanted a career working with animals.
She shares her home with her adorable mutt dog Kismet and a spirited Amazon parrot named Spatz.
She also has a Paint mare named Blue.
In her spare time Dominique enjoys riding horses, going to the shooting range, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Abel is the owner of Harper Animal Hospital and has been treating generations of pets there since 1989.
His interest in veterinary medicine dates back to an early age when he traveled from farm to farm with his father, who ran a mixed animal veterinary practice in rural Iowa.
Watching his father leave in the middle of the night to deliver calves in sub-freezing weather led Dr. Abel down a slightly different path, however, which brought him to our suburbs in 1988.
Prior to that, he received a Bachelors Degree in Microbiology from Iowa State University in 1984, followed by his Veterinary Degree from Iowa State University in 1988.
