Our clinic offers a wide range of medical services and surgeries for dogs and cats. We're located at 1656 Dorset Lane Suite 300, and we have ample space for parking within a safe, low traffic area for your pet. Our patients are primarily cats and dogs, with a few rabbits. Dr. Knudson, Dr. Schlichting, and Dr. Kassekert also offer exams and basic treatments for other small mammals.
Please visit our Services page to learn more about the services we provide. I can't say enough great things about the staff here. We live over an hour away and I won't bring my fur babies anywhere else. Dr. Joy has taken care of our animals for as long as I can remember. They are always so patient and helpful - I always know that they will be there to help in whatever way that they can when we need them.
This morning we had a minor emergency and they took us right in (knowing that I had driven over an hour) so that my cat could get the surgery for his abscess that he needed. Thank you, Dr. Joy and the staff! You do a phenomenal job!

Meet the Team
Report
Dean Knudson decided to become a veterinarian after watching one of his horses being treated by the family vet.
While growing up he raised cattle, sheep, swine, poultry, and horses, but it was the bond with his family's dogs and cats that led him to pursue a career in small animal medicine.
After studying zoology and microbiology at North Dakota State University, Dean attended Iowa State University, receiving his veterinary degree in 1986.
Dean has a depth of experience in small animal medicine, including general practice, emergency, and critical care medicine, practice management, relief practice and consulting.

Both docs are fantastic.
Check-ups are easy and thorough - the docs are super knowledgeable and non-judgemental.
They are compassionate and supportive during the most difficult of decisions.
The vet techs are also amazing.
Exceedingly patient with my high energy/ anxious dog's nail trims - all 100lbs of him, slobbering, flailing, fur-flying, whining - it's no big deal for them.
They also took special care of our senior dog today, went above and beyond to say the very least.
After getting told there is nothing our normal vet can do for us on a Saturday morning for an emergency call, we called around and New Richmond Veterinary Clinic was the only non-emergency vet clinic we found willing to take a look at our dog.

Dental Care
Report
Does your dog or cat have less-than-sweet smelling breath?
It could be due to a buildup of plaque, tartar, or calculus on his/her teeth, which can contribute to other health complications as they age.
Poor dental health can actually take time off of your pet's life and can cause substantial discomfort and illness.
We will examine your pet's mouth to determine if an ultrasonic scaling is necessary, and we can provide that service right here in the clinic.
Digital dental radiographs are done to see the health of your pet's teeth below the gum line (roots) before all dental procedures, so we can often see problem areas before your pet has noticeable discomfort.
