Services
All surgeries receive a pre-surgical examination, pre and post-operative pain medications, intraoperative monitoring and optional pre-anesthetic bloodwork.
Pre-anesthetic bloodwork is highly recommened for all patients to insure they are healthy enough to undergo anesthesia; in some cases pre-anesthetic bloodwork will be required.
Dental procedures are considered surgical procedures because the animal must be placed under anesthesia.
We offer in house boarding for clients for dogs and cats when there is available space in our kennel area.
Did you know that during the different stages of our pets lives they need more specialized care, just as we do as we get older?
Here at State Road Animal Hospital we understand the need for more comprehensive & diagnostic care for aging pets and have developed a program designed especially for them.
Below is the recommended program for pets 8 years or older.
In order to meet the guidelines for standard of care that have been established by the American Association of Veterinary Cardiologists and the American Heartworm Society, we will no longer be able to offer the option of declining an annual heartworm test.
In order for your pet(s) to be on a heartworm preventative, they must have a current (within one year) physical exam and a negative heartworm test.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but it is our mission to provide complete patient care and a high standard of excellence for your pet(s).
North Carolina State law requires any dog or cat 4 months of age or older to be vaccinated against rabies.
The owner must be able to provide proof of current inoculation.
During clinics, you must provide PROOF of a current rabies vaccination to receive a 3 year vaccine.
This should be a paper record from another veterinary hospital, animal shelter, or animal control organization.
All dogs are to be held securely on a leash and all cats are to be contained in a carrier or box by a responsible person.
The Good Samaritan Fund is comprised solely of customer donations.
It's purpose is to help established clients of State Road Animal Hospital that fall on hard times and have an unforeseeable emergency with their pet.
The staff, as a whole, vote on who is eligible and the amount dispersed.
The amount is not to exceed a set percentage of the fund.
It is important to note that it is used for medical emergencies, not elective procedures and will not cover the entire cost of the visit.
You may also bring your unwanted and broken cell phones and accessories by the office to recycle.
