Dr. Sewell graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina State University with a BS in Animal Science. In 1988, she graduated from North Carolina State's College of Veterinary Medicine (where she is a member of the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society). She has been a member of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association for over 20 years, including serving on the Executive Board for over 6 years, and being president of the association from 2011-2012.

She founded Crestview Veterinary Hospital in 1990 and built our current state of the art facility in 2005. She enjoys maintaining a high proficiency in education and pursues adjunct therapies to best help her patients. She obtained her AVCA certification in Veterinary Acupuncture in 2009. Currently, she is one of only 8 AVCA certified veterinarians in the state of NC.

Integrating traditional veterinary medicine and holistic care including rehab, chiropractic, and acupuncture to obtain the highest quality of life is a guiding principle.
