Animal Rescue Groups
Report
There are many great dogs and cats that are euthanized that would have made someone a great pet and companion.
Because of this, we do veterinary work for several rescue organizations.
If you are looking for a pet, please contact one of these rescue organizations or let us know and we will help you get into contact with them.
There is an endless supply of pure bred and mixed breed dogs, cats, puppies and kittens!
Find them on Facebook!
Boarding and Grooming
Report
We have a new boarding facility for those of you that need a place to leave your pet for a day or for an extended period of time.
Our kennels are composed of large runs which offer your pet plenty of space to get around.
Each run has solid sides which prevent direct contact between other individuals.
Our kennels are also heated and air conditioned and we have a "fenced-in" exercise area so that the animals can be taken out for some fresh air (weather permitting).
We also have a separate room for boarding cats.
This Month: Fleas & Heartworms
Report
Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal disease primarily of dogs.
Cats may sometimes become infected, but since they are not a natural host they will usually have no signs of disease.
This blood parasite, Dirofilaria immitis, is spread via mosquitos and will grow in the heart and the arteries of the lungs.
These worms, which can range in size from 3 to 14 inches, can cause heart, lung, liver and kidney failure.
Heartworms can not spread directly from dog to dog.
A mosquito must first bite an infected dog.
Veterinary Topics
Report
Many dog owners admire the unique looks and personalities of purebreds, but also worry about the fate of millions of pets euthanized each year.
What many people don't realize is that there are specific breed rescue organizations for almost every breed of dog, placing dogs in need to new homes.
If you're thinking of getting a pet fish, you should know that your veterinarian has a lot of good advice about pet ownership.
Fish can be very rewarding as pets, and you just may be surprised about how much fish actually interact with their owners.
