Lakeside Veterinary Clinic was established in 1992 in Tupper Lake, in the heart of New York's beautiful Adirondack Mountains. We are a small animal clinic committed to providing the best possible healthcare to pets in a professional, courteous, and caring manner. Our excellent staff believes that animal comfort comes first and foremost. We also strive to provide our clients the best possible service in an atmosphere of compassion and understanding.

We provide a warm, clean environment for our patients and boarders. Lakeside Veterinary Clinic is an accredited member of the New York State Veterinary Medical Society for having been evaluated and found to meet the standards established by the Veterinary Facility Accreditation Program (VFAP) for veterinary facilities in New York State. The NYSVMS is dedicated to upholding the standards of veterinary care in our state.

The VFAP is a voluntary program of facility inspection and accreditation. Over one third of all veterinary practices in New York State have demonstrated their commitment to excellence in equipment, record keeping, appearance, maintenance, and quality patient care by becoming VFAP member hospitals.
Services
Services
Report
We offer boarding facilities for those instances when our four-legged family members need a babysitter or cannot travel with the rest of the family.
We try to keep their schedule at our facility as close as possible to their schedule at home.
Owners are required to fill out a questionnaire detailing their pet's habits and food preferences as well as a release form.
All the pet's vaccinations and veterinary care must be current and they must be parasite free.
This is for your pet's protection.
All medications and care instructions are administered as directed.
General Practice
Report
Lakeside Veterinary Clinic is a general practice.
We provide preventative medical, surgical, and dental services; in addition to treating sick and injured pets, with the belief that accurate diagnosis is the foundation to effective treatment.
On a daily basis we see pets for their annual physical examinations and administer appropriate vaccinations.
We routinely screen for internal and external parasites.
In addition, puppies and kittens are given their initial series of inoculations and deworming.
Microchipping
Report
Microchips are a permanent way of identifying your pet.
A very tiny computerized microchip is placed below the skin in a standardized area based on the type of animal.
There is no working or moving part, so the chip can't stop working.
The chip is encased in biocompatible material so there is no tissue rejection or reaction.
The animals are also identified with a tag alerting to the fact that they have a microchip implant.
If a pet gets lost, animal shelters, humane societies, and veterinarians have scanners that read the number on the chip.
Radiology
Report
We digital x-rays to perform evaluations of our patients allowing us to diagnose both soft tissue (chest and abdomen) and skeletal abnormalities.
We also radiograph animals to certify them as good breeding candidates by having the x-rays evaluated by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals.
As necessary, we use the radiology department at Cornell University for radiology consults.
