Steckelberg Veterinary Clinic offers small and large animal veterinary services to clients in central Iowa. The clinic has two veterinarians that specialize in providing high-quality, affordable care to all our patients. Small animal services include: examinations, vaccinations, preventative medicine, boarding, surgery, dental cleaning and extractions, in-house digital x-rays and diagnostics, pet health consultation, and cremation.
The large animal services include farm calls for cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, and horses. Wellness care helps your pets live a healthier life-giving them more time to spend with you! Dr. Kurt Steckelberg grew up and graduated from Beaman, Conrad, Liscomb in 1986.
He decided in high school that he wanted to follow in his father's, Arvin, footsteps and become a veterinarian.
Dr. Steckelberg has many fond memories of going on calls with his dad, working cattle, backing up trailers, and listening to client's stories.
In trying to decide what to do after high, he looked closely at what he liked to guide him in a direction.
He loved to spend time outdoors, liked his science classes in school, helping people, and wanted to do something that would enhance the agricultural life of Iowa.

We provide both core and optional vaccines for dogs and cats.
The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) recommends that all dogs receive canine distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza, and rabies vaccinations.
Core vaccines for cats include feline distemper, feline calicivirus, feline herpes, and rabies.
Puppies and kittens should receive their first set of vaccines by eight weeks of age.
We also offer Bordetella, leptospirosis, chlamydia, feline leukemia, and giardia.
We recommend annual wellness exams for adult dogs and cats between one and seven years old.
