Established in 1981, we provide a wide range of services for large and small animals. We appreciate your business and strive to provide you and your animals quality care and service. Otherwise, please come in 15 minutes prior to your pets appointment so we can get your information. Also, it would help if you have your pets medical records faxed ("Contact" tab) or brought to us so we can better get to know your pets history.
We brought our dog here after she became very ill very fast, the staff was very amazing they got her in fast and they were very compassionate. We had originally taken her to a vet closer to our home in San Antonio and after guessing what might've been wrong with her they gave me an estimate of almost TRIPlE of what Dr Behrends was going to charge us.
They were very honest with us and didn't just see dollar signs. This is what vets should be like! They maybe a little far from us but we will gladly make the trip. Our dogs are like family and this office is who we trust with our family.

Dr. Behrends received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M in 1979.
He was an associate veterinarian in Angleton, TX before returning to the hill country, where he was born and raised (Stonewall & Fredericksburg).
The practice was established in 1981, and he has been an active practitioner in mixed animal medicine in Blanco since.
Along with being a father of two, Dr. Behrends is an active member of First Baptist Church and a board member of the Blanco County Appraisal District.
Dr. Behrends received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M in May of 2014.
