Your dog can be fed its own food, or kennel food, on its regular schedule at no extra cost.
Four times a day your dog will be walked on a leash on its own providing socialization and direct human contact.
Any medications can be given by our staff for a small additional fee.
A veterinarian is onsite seven days a week so any emerging medical conditions can be diagnosed and treated with a minimum of fuss.

Dental Cleaning
Report
In an ideal world, pets - like humans - would have their teeth brushed twice a day.
Unfortunately we do not live in an ideal world.
Pets still need regular dental cleanings.
At Sierra Animal Hospital we recommend that older animals and animals with bad teeth have dental cleanings at least once a year, sometimes every 6 months.
We can show you the general condition of your pet's teeth whenever you come in for an exam.
Calculus or tartar on a pet's teeth can lead to at best bad breath and at worst heart disease, liver and kidney failure.

Declawing & Dewclaw Removal
Report
Despite the best efforts of the owner a cat can still be an extremely destructive animal to home furnishings and can also inflict significant injury to humans and other animals.
Declawing, where the claws are removed surgically from either the two front paws or all four, is a relatively straight forward way to make a destructive cat adoptable.
Sierra Animal Hospital strongly recommends that only indoor cats are declawed.
A dewclaw is the stump of an additional toe that roughly correlates to a thumb on a human.

Spaying & Neutering
Report
A Spay is the removal of the female animal's uterus and ovaries so that it is no longer capable of bearing young.
Spaying is a major procedure but one that can prevent life threatening medical conditions later in life.
Spaying an animal while it is in heat increases the risks associated with this operation and is therefore discouraged.
There is an additional fee for spaying an animal in heat as the procedure takes longer and requires a larger incision.
A Neuter is the removal of a male animal's testicles, thereby removing its ability and desire to reproduce.
