Whistle Veterinary Clinic is a full-service facility dedicated to providing customized healthcare for cats and dogs. Located in Anacortes, Washington. Our practice serves pet families from communities across the Pacific Northwest, including Mount Vernon, Burlington, Whidbey Island, San Juan Island, and many others. Founded by Dr. Beth Scheenstra in 2017, we're proud to be a privately-owned, contemporary practice that values customized care and open communication.

Dr. Beth is a Washington State University graduate and a Skagit Valley local who has been practicing locally for over a decade. Working exclusively with small animals, she enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine. Preventive medicine is the cornerstone to her guiding principles in practice. If she can prevent, slow, treat any disease process allowing a pet to live a longer healthier life than she feels she has done her best medicine.

Because of this desire Dr. Beth takes special interest in geriatric medicine, long term pain control, oncology and general preventative care.
Services
Behavioral counseling: We can help correct negative behaviors, such as excessive barking, chewing, scratching, digging, poor bathroom habits, and aggression.
Diagnostics: Our digital x-ray equipment and ultrasound unit can help us spot broken bones, foreign objects, tumors, and other internal conditions.
We can run some in-house blood and urine tests as well as utilize an outstanding local pathology lab for all our other needs.
Dietary counseling: We're happy to make dietary recommendations to help optimize your pet's growth, development, and overall health.
Just like us, our pets have individual needs - especially as they age.
At Whistle Veterinary Clinic, we carefully consider your pet's risk factors and lifestyle considerations, and we welcome your questions and concerns.
We allot 30 minutes for every appointment so we can thoroughly discuss your pet and make personalized recommendations.
Ultimately, our goal is to protect your pet's quality of life by preventing medical conditions altogether or at least slowing the progression of any that may arise.
We understand it can be stressful to learn that your pet needs surgery.
We're happy to answer any questions you might have and explain your pet's procedure to you in as much detail as you'd like.
We're fully committed to maintaining your pet's comfort and safety throughout every procedure.
Our doctors perform most soft tissue surgeries, including spays and neuters, which we recommend for all pets.
Spaying and neutering helps control the pet population and protects your pet from developing certain health conditions.
Even the most pampered pet can develop chronic health conditions, particularly as they age.
With an effective, appropriate management plan, we can minimize the impact of these conditions on your pet's longevity and quality of life.
If your pet develops a chronic condition, they'll likely require more frequent visits to our clinic for evaluations, injections, or diagnostic testing, as well as home care measures that might include medications or a special diet.
We'll work with you to create an individualized treatment plan that meets the needs of your pet and your family.
