Ever since he can remember, Dr. Hammerschmidt wanted to work in a challenging profession that allowed him to help others.
Veterinary medicine was the perfect way to combine his interest in science with his passion for pet care!
Now he's a full-time veterinarian and the owner of South Shore Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Hammerschmidt grew up north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and would often spend weekends on his grandparents' dairy farm.
There, his love of animal care was born.
Dr. Hammerschmidt attended Pennsylvania State University to receive his Bachelor's degree in animal bioscience, working full-time in the University's research facilities at the same time.
