Welcome to Cottonwood Animal Clinic where we look forward to helping you with your animals' health care needs in Cowley County, KS and the surrounding area. Our mixed animal clinic was established in 1978 by Dr. Steve Abrams and his wife, Susan. In 2013, their youngest son, Dr. Carson Abrams joined the practice as a veterinarian, and recently Dr. KaCee Tyler joined the practice as well.
We understand that you care very much for your animals, and we want you to know that we look forward to partnering with you in this endeavor. You know that you and the people around you tend to function better when you eat well, take some time to exercise and reduce your risk of dangerous conditions, for instance you put on sunscreen when you are going to be exposed to the sun.
You realize what you need to do to take care of yourself, and you also want to do what you can to take care of your animals, too. But sometimes you have questions, and that's where we fit in. When you have questions about a vaccination schedule for your pet or for your herd, we are here for you.

Diagnostic Testing
Report
We understand how hard it is when your pet is not feeling well, and how frustrating it can be to not know exactly what is ailing them.
We have many different tools and up-to-date technology available to help better understand what might be happening on the inside of your pet.
Once we have a diagnosis, it is easier to determine the various treatment options.
Before any treatment takes place, we will go over the recommended treatment and any options plus the cost associated with each plan.
Through partnering with other laboratories, we also provide a wide range of other diagnostics including cultures, thyroid testing, brucellosis testing, coggins testing and many others.

Dentistry
Report
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats show signs of oral disease by the age of 3. Proper oral hygiene is an important part of health, and your pet's oral health is directly related to their overall health.
If you are noticing issues, it could simply be a tartar build-up problem, or it may be something more serious like periodontal disease which is a medical condition that can spread infection throughout the whole body.
Through routine dental cleanings and preventative care, hopefully your pet can avoid other, more complicated procedures.

Surgery
Report
We understand there comes a time in most pet parents' lives when their beloved companion must undergo some type of surgery.
It might be for a very routine spay or neuter or something more complex.
Surgeries are part of our daily routine here at Cottonwood Animal Clinic, but we understand it can be a stressful time for clients and patients because it is not something that is part of their daily routine.
We know that there might be lots of questions or concerns, and we are here to help put your mind at ease.
