We are writing with an update on our clinic hours. You may or may not know that there is a severe shortage of workers for the veterinary field. This has resulted in clinics turning clients away, longer wait times to get in and overall burn out for those in the profession. We are happy to report that we have continued to accept new clients, we are usually able to get pets seen relatively quickly and we want to continue to do that.

We are changing our hours to help us to be more efficient. This is to allow our staff time to address our own home lives and to be able to focus better on patient care the other 4 days of the work week. We are able to handle more appointments and drop-offs as well as work-in emergencies when we have a balanced life outside of work. It is our goal to prevent burnout and help our staff feel renewed in our efforts to increase our caseload the rest of the week.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you and we are happy to work around schedules to get your pet in the other days of the week.

About Us
Report
Dr. Walter J. Hutto built and opened Hutto Animal Hospital in the early 1960's and worked straight up until 10 days before he passed at the age of 87, in May of 2018.
Dr. Hutto was a much-loved and compassionate veterinarian who gave all he had to his patients, his clients, his family and his community.
After his passing, there was still a need for veterinary medicine in the area.
Dr. Chavis opened the Hutto Veterinary Clinic in 2019 and has built on the foundation of what Dr. Hutto started - both literally and figuratively.
Dr. J. Nichole Chavis

Dr. Chavis grew up in the upstate of SC in a small town outside of Clemson called Walhalla.
After high school, she attended Clemson University and then went on to get her veterinary degree from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL.
Since graduation in 2005, she has worked primarily in the Lowcountry.
Her love of her job is centered around educating owners and helping them provide the best care possible for their pets.
The community of Holly Hill and surrounding areas has been so welcoming and warm that it feels like "home".

William
Report
William has been with our clients and with Dr. Hutto before Dr. Chavis, bringing his time working at this clinic to over 30 years.
He doesn't have one role but many within the clinic and there is no way we could be where we are today without him!
His favorite part is working with dogs (yes, even the grumpy ones) and the atmosphere at Hutto Veterinary Clinic.
William is well-known in the community and we are fortunate to have him as part of our amazing team.
He always has a smile and is ready and willing to jump into any project with all he's got.

She's always smiling and laughing, which is a just a small reflection of her sunny personality.
She loves the family environment at Hutto Veterinary Clinic and our vision to always improve as individuals and a team.
She says one of her favorite parts of the job is how our clinic focuses on truly looking out for the clients.
Mary has a soft spot for rescuing senior dogs.
She started with JD, a handsome lab mix.
She spent 1.5 years with JD before he passed and was only able to go 2 weeks without another senior in her life.
