Here, we care for every pet like our own. But this place is more than a gold-standard veterinary hospital. At the core of our practice is a belief in caring for people. In how to care for people. We put you at the center of everything we do. We take the time to get to know you. We put your needs first. And when you walk through our doors, your problems become our problems.

Your concerns become our concerns. And we work to make a difference in your life. Care runs deeper here. Let us show you what we mean. Deep Listening Our goal is to be exactly what you need us to be. That starts with listening. We get to know you - like we would a friend. We get to know your pet. We work to understand what you want for them, how they fit into your life, and what you are worried about.

This is at the heart of our culture. And once we understand you, we educate you. We empower you. We find little ways to make a difference. And we give you our best, every time. Because when it comes to you, nothing less will do.

Wellness & Prevention
Report
These first visits are especially fun and very important in getting your new pet off to a good start.
Our veterinarians perform a thorough nose to tail physical exam, focusing on any internal/external parasite problems or congenital or developmental abnormalities.
Highlands team members will provide you with the latest information to help you raise a healthy puppy or kitten.
Your pet depends on your protection in many ways.
Vaccinations are an important part of protecting pets from debilitating and even life threatening diseases.
Diagnostics
Report
At Highlands Veterinary Hospital, a thorough nose to tail physical examination is always performed as the starting point to identifying the cause of your pet's presenting complaint.
Based on this examination and a history provided by you, one of our veterinarians will recommend laboratory testing to differentiate between the most likely possible conditions.
To expedite this process and allow prompt treatment of your pet, Highlands has a comprehensive in-house laboratory.
Chemistry Panel: Evaluates glucose level, kidney biomarkers, liver enzymes, protein levels and electrolyte values.
Surgery
Report
Highlands Veterinary Hospital offers a wide range of surgeries from routine operations such as spays, neuters, and mass removals to more challenging procedures.
Emergency surgeries are also performed, these may include caesarean sections, gastric-dilatation and volvulus (GDV) correction, or the removal of GI foreign bodies.
Every pet under anesthesia has vitals (heart rate, respiratory rate, O2, body temperature, ECG, and blood pressure) monitored by a veterinary technician or assistant throughout any surgical procedure.
Dentistry
Report
It is important to start early with your pet's dental health.
Studies have shown that providing your pet with good dental health will extend life by years and also prevent serious disease in organs like the heart, liver, and kidneys.
Both puppies and kittens have deciduous teeth that will be replaced by permanent adult teeth.
If these baby teeth have not fallen out by 6 to 7 months of age, it is critical that they are surgically removed to preserve the adult teeth.
Dental home care comes in many shapes and sizes.
