Our state-of-the-art clinic offers a full line of medical, dental, and surgical services. We have an in-house laboratory that offers full bloodwork panels, radiographs, and many other tests with results on the same day so your pet doesn't have to wait for a diagnosis!. Dr. Taylor is originally from a small town in Southeast Missouri called Steele.

He grew up in the country with several different animals (dogs, cats, horses). Dr. Taylor went to the University of Missouri for his college and graduated from veterinary school in 2005. While in college, he learned to surf and heard about the Outer Banks. After graduation, he moved to Kitty Hawk and practiced in private practice as well as emergency medicine for the next 5 years.

He opened the Outer Banks Veterinary Hospital in 2010 and currently resides in Kill Devil Hills with his wife Jessica, their two children Emma and Jonathan, and their two dogs Winnie and Nai'a. Outside of the office, he enjoys surfing, sailing, fishing, radios (he's a ham radio operator), and brewing beer.

Roundworms are 'spaghetti like' worms commonly seen in the stool of dogs and cats.
They are most commonly seen in puppies and kittens as they can get them from their mother in the uterus and in the milk.
Roundworms can infect people (zoonotic) and can cause serious problems such as blindness, especially in children and people with compromised immunity (AIDS/people getting chemotherapy).
Make sure you discard your pet's feces in the trash and wash your hands after handling feces if you think your pet may have roundworms.

Wonderful place to take your furbaby/furbabies the staff rocks.
You can tell they truly love animals.
I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone that is looking for an awesome vet to take their animals.
Thank you all so much.
A huge thank you to Dr. Jay Taylor for being available today!
In our time of need, he made the task of sending our kitty, "Sandy" to the rainbow bridge, less stressful.
He also went above and beyond by helping us dig out of the snow after we drove into a drift in the parking lot.
