South Bay Veterinary Care is a full service companion animal hospital that is open 7 days a week for your pets needs. We currently only provide service for dogs and cats. We are a multilingual (English, Japanese, Spanish) hospital that serves Gardena and the surrounding areas. Our owner, Dr. Linda Miyashiro is an experienced, licensed veterinarian who puts your pet's needs first.
Your pet's health and well-being are very important to us and we will ensure your pet receives the best possible care. We offer preventative care, dental, surgical and emergency services. From a young age Dr. Miyashiro envisioned a career working with animals. For Dr. Miyashiro it has been a challenging but exhilarating journey from walking and bathing dogs at a boarding kennel to becoming veterinarian owner of South Bay Veterinary Care.
If you're thinking of getting a pet fish, you should know that your veterinarian has a lot of good advice about pet ownership. Fish can be very rewarding as pets, and you just may be surprised about how much fish actually interact with their owners.

Dental Cleanings
Report
When was the last time you had your pet's teeth cleaned?
According to the AVMA, pets who have never had a teeth cleaning have signs of dental disease by the time they are three years old.
For that reason, South Bay Veterinary Care recommends that all pets have a yearly dental cleaning and oral examination.
Dogs and cats are prone to developing the same types of dental diseases and problems as humans, including gingivitis, periodontal disease, tooth decay, staining and cavities.
The process of dental decay and disease starts every time your pet eats.

Health Certificates/Titers
Report
If you plan to travel by auto or air with your pet to another state or internationally, your pet may require a certificate of veterinary inspection.
A health certificate is a federal document generated by a federally-accredited veterinarian.
The certificate ensures that a pet has met certain health criteria.
There are two general types of health certificates for pets: domestic for interstate travel within the U.S. (usually by air) and international.
Both types have stringent rules veterinarians cannot bend.

Radiology
Report
When it comes to accurately diagnosing and treating your pet after he or she has experienced an injury or illness, you can count on our veterinary team to have the latest digital imaging device.
All radiographs are viewed by the veterinarian on staff as well as a certified radiologist for a second opinion.
Digital images are used to diagnose a variety of conditions and ailments in dogs and cats.
The common term for a radiograph is an x-ray.
These images can help diagnose problems and conditions with the bones and joints, such as broken bones, swelling in the joints and other types of bone abnormalities.
