She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Her special interests include nutrition and increasing owner awareness of the quality of pet foods available.
For fun, she enjoys playing with her three greyhounds, riding and training her horses, drawing, playing the piano, gardening, photography and sitting on her porch watching the wild birds with her husband.
She was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from the University of Puerto Rico in 2010.
