MCAH does not use vaccines containing adjuvants, chemical additives, or vaccines produced in foreign live material.
Such vaccines are safer and have a much lower possibility of causing a reaction.
In order to reduce the possibility of your puppy contracting a communicable disease, we suggest you not take your puppy to dog parks or places where other dogs "have been." until 16 weeks of age.
At six weeks, your puppy should begin receiving vaccines which generate protective antibodies against canine diseases.

Felines, especially cats roaming outside or mixing with other cats, should definitely be vaccinated against Feline Diseases.
The suggested vaccination schedule is as follows.
The FVRCP Core Vaccine made up of three vaccines in one injection (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calici, panleukopenia) and should be administered at 6 to 8 weeks of age and as boosters every 3 to 4 weeks thereafter until 16 weeks old If started at 6 weeks, then at 9, 12 and 16 weeks.

Our system uses the same type of technology as a professional digital camera.
Not only is resolution much improved over traditional film, but the "pictures, " which show on a high resolution monitor, can be lightened, darkened, enlarged, and transmitted over the internet.
We can take an X-ray and have it in the hands of a consultant, specialist, or surgeon within minutes.
The digital unit also possesses "tools" which allow very accurate measurements of size and angles.
MCAH has a state-of-the-Art Storz Rigid Endoscopic unit which uses fiber-optic technology to look at, photograph, and examine internal body areas through a small opening or incision.
Arthroscopy is an orthopedic surgical procedure performed using a small fiber-optic telescope and various instruments which are inserted through a small incision to visualize and manipulate tissue within a joint.
Arthroscopy has the advantage of being less invasive, less painful, and having less postoperative risk than traditional joint surgery.
MCAH has a DC-6 MindRay Ultrasound System, adding significently to our diagnostic capabilities.
This piece of equipment is useful for real time dynamic observation and analysis, and is totally noninvasive.
Using only sound waves to image internal organs is entirely safe and involves no radiation.
Internet capable, the MindRay can take "snapshots" of ultrasound images, which can then be stored, printed as a photograph, or e-mailed to specialists or other interested parties.
