Dr. Chaves obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology from George Washington University in 1996, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. He has practiced medicine in five states and is happy to have finally settled in California. He is passionate about providing quality care.
Dr. Chaves and his wife Niki have two sons, two dogs and two cats, not including those permanent residents of the hospital. Covington Creek Veterinary Hospital specializes in providing care for dogs and cats of all ages and breeds. CCVH understands the need for consistent care.

We take medicine, anesthesia and surgery very seriously at CCVH.
Behind-the-scenes shortcuts are not taken.
The highest quality equipment and supplies are used.
Everything is painstakingly researched in advance.
Our philosophy is reflected in a number of ways, including everything from how anesthesia is performed, down to details like the brand of suture material that is used and the appeasing pheromones used in the exam rooms to help make the experience less stressful for patients.

Appointments are required for dropping off and picking up your pet.
These are actual appointments that allow the smooth functioning of the entire facility and are specific times, not a time range.
Pets are boarded at our facility 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and are checked a minimum of twice a day.
While pets are supervised closely, they are not supervised 24 hours a day, according to our business hours.
Pet owners must provide proof of all of the following requirements being met prior to scheduling a boarding reservation.
