Our Veterinarians
Report
As far back as he can remember, Dr. Mike always loved science.
While in high school, he was trying to think of a career choice that would allow him to stay firmly attached to his science-based roots while letting him stay in close touch with animals.
Veterinary medicine was the perfect combination!
Born in Milwaukee, Dr. Mike spent most of his childhood growing up in East Troy, Wisconsin.
His very first job was delivering the Janesville Gazette in East Troy!
During high school and college, Dr. Mike shadowed a few veterinarians, which only confirmed his desire to become one himself.

Fear Free Veterinary Visits
Report
The Janesville Veterinary Clinic has embraced the fear free movement!
Our staff members have received extensive training, and many of our care team members are fear-free certified.
The fear-free movement, developed by the esteemed Dr. Marty Becker, is a set of specific techniques that, when implemented by pet owners and veterinarian professionals, greatly reduce anxiety associated with veterinary visits.
The Fear-Free movement focuses on the fact that pets not only need veterinary professionals to look after their physical well-being, but their emotional well-being as well.

Declawing
Report
The Janesville Veterinary Clinic is taking a stand against declawing.
Moving forward, declawing and tendonectomies will be reserved only for those rare cases in which a cat has a medical problem that would warrant such surgery, such as the need to remove cancerous nail bed tumors.
Too often, people think that declawing is a simple surgery to remove a cat's nails-the equivalent of having your fingernails trimmed.
This is far from the truth, as your cat's claw is not actually a toenail.
It is adhered to the bone.
