Blue Cross Pet Hospital is a well-established small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required.

The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas. At Blue Cross Pet Hospital we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years.

Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.
Services
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination.
Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems.
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients.
Dr. Roberta Raymond has owned Blue Cross Pet Hospital since 1988.
She bought the clinic from the original founders Dr. Ben Dillon and Dr. Eugene Brauner who established it in 1958; at that time it was one of the original businesses along a quiet two lane Fair Oaks Blvd!
Roberta wanted to be a veterinarian ever since she was a child growing up in the bay area.
She went to UC Davis and received her bachelors degree in Animal Science and followed that with her DVM degree.
She graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1985.
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment.
Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable.
Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date.
Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets.
Blue Cross Pet Hospital provides you with a full library of pet medical information from the Veterinary Information Network.
VIN is the world's first and largest online veterinary community, where new articles are added weekly by the experts at VIN to make sure that our readers have the most current veterinary information available.
Do you feed your dogs peanut butter?
Cats are typically turned off to carriers because they associate being stuffed in the carrier with a nasty experience, that dreaded car ride to the vet office.
The goal of Kitty-K is to change that perception.
But we need your help to make that happen.
Purchase your carrier at least ten days before the first class.
Any cat carrier will do, but we recommend a soft sided carrier which opens on the sides (in addition to opening on the top, which most carriers do).
And believe it or not, you can teach your kitty to simply walk into it.
