For over 50 years, caring for our clients and their pets has been the number one priority for Cornelia and Clarkesville Veterinary Hospitals. Our hospital has a doctor on call until 10pm, 7 days a week, to assist our clients' needs. We look for opportunities to serve our community through school programs, participation in career fairs, sponsoring scout merit badges, hospital tours, pet visits to area nursing or senior care homes, seminars on specific animal issues, newspaper articles and daily client education.

Please contact our business office if you're interested in our programs. For the past 50 years, caring for our clients and their pets has been the number one priority for Cornelia and Clarkesville Veterinary Hospitals. You have thanked us by voting our hospitals Habersham County's best every year. We want to thank all of our clients for this, but even more, thank YOU for trusting us with the health and care of your pets for all of these years.

Clarkesville Veterinary Hospital is committed to providing high quality and compassionate care to the pets of our community.
Services
Complete Physical Exam
Report
A yearly physical exam is one of the best preventative measures available for your pet!
During the examination, a veterinarian may ask you questions regarding your pet's diet, behavior, and life style.
A comprehensive physical examination will then be performed, including a dental assessment, cardiothoracic evaluation, pain assessment, body condition scoring, and more.
On the basis of history and physical examination findings, assessments are made regarding your pet's health.
Detecting a problem in its early stages greatly improves the ability to treat; therefore, during a wellness visit, your vet may also recommend further diagnostic testing such as blood work, radiographs, or ultrasound.
Heartworm
Report
More than 1 million pets in the U.S. have heartworm disease.
Because heartworms are carried by mosquitoes, the disease tends to be more widespread in warm and humid areas such as Georgia!
An undetected and untreated heartworm infection can cause irreparable and potentially fatal damage to the arteries, heart, and lungs.
This is why annual testing and monitoring is so very important!
Even if you're a responsible owner and keep your dog on year-round prevention, the American Heartworm Society still recommends annual testing to determine if a pet has become infected.
Exotic animal care
Report
In recent years, exotic pets have become more and more popular.
Birds, ferrets, reptiles, guinea pigs, rabbits and rodents make wonderful companions and they need attention too!
We recommend that you bring your new pet in for a thorough physical examination when you first obtain it.
This will help to ensure that your new pet is healthy and we can help to educate you about all aspects of caring for an exotic pet.
We strongly recommend that you research the care of an exotic pet prior to purchase.
