Everyone who works here is so nice! My dog still doesn't necessarily enjoy the vet but he loves everyone there. Dr. Sawyer is really great as are all the techs we've worked with. Convenient to get to for me and they are always working with my schedule for anything I might need to schedule. We feel well taken care of here! Competent, friendly staff and vets (both the fabulous Dr. Sawyer and his relief vets).
Been taking our several Maine Coon cats there for 20 years (and one of them is a happy 18 years old despite liver damage, sub total colonectomy, and lymphoma.) Worth the slightly higher costs for their location, excellent care, and Saturday appointments.

Our Team

Dr. Sawyer is the owner and leading veterinarian of Murphy Avenue Pet Clinic.
He graduated from the UC Davis College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993, and has been in general practice (mostly in the South Bay Area) since then.
He is a native of San Jose, having graduated from Del Mar High in 1984.
Ken enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially dentistry, surgery, pain control, and internal medicine.
He shares his life with his wife, also a veterinarian, a Pit Bull named Smokey (yes, he is friendly, and gets along with cats, other dogs, and children very well), Petey, a young and inquisitive Pit Bull, Billy, a cat with radial nerve paralysis, Crumpet, an elder cat with early kidney disease that was surrendered recently by a client, and 6 chickens.
