Our History
Report
Our veterinary practice was originally established as a satellite clinic by Dr. Frank Bartus in 1963.
His daughter and her husband, Dr. Michelle Bartus and Dr. Peter Nelson, joined him in business in 1984 and formed Valley Veterinary Service.
Dr. Frank Bartus has since passed, but the clinic he started has grown into a full service small animal veterinary hospital serving the Monongahela Valley area with family pride.
AAHA establishes standards of excellence in small animal practice and we are excited about meeting and exceeding those standards.

Meet the Behavior Team
Report
Dr. Crum's interest in animal behavior began long before attending veterinary school when she adopted her first dog from a puppy mill rescue organization.
She named her Sunny.
Sunny was a timid, poorly socialized Bernese Mountain Dog who spent 3 years as a breeding dog.
The special needs of this dog and her resilience are what really inspired Dr. Crum to become a veterinarian.
While in veterinary school, she was VP of the Behavior Club and attended as many seminars as she could on Animal Behavior.
