Dr. Price is a Wisconsin native that moved to beautiful North Carolina in 2013.
She started her career in veterinary medicine working in emergency medicine and then moved to working as a mixed animal practitioner.
She met Kathryn Combs in 2017 and started working with Lewis Veterinary Clinic in 2018.
Her special interests include: Dermatology (for all those itching dogs and cats!) and Surgery.
True to her Wisconsin roots, she has a herd of beef cows and spends her free time working with them.
Zippy is an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie Mix, Tommy, Lulu and Ruger are bird dogs and Temple, Rachel and Revelation are Border Collies.

Heart-worm disease is transmitted through bites of mosquito.
Adult female heart-worms living in infected dogs, cats, fox or even coyotes produce microfilaria.
When the mosquito take a blood meal from an infected animals it pick up baby heart-worms or microfilaria.
These baby worms mature into the "infection stage" larvae over a period of 10 to 14 days.
Once the animal has been infected with these larvae they can then start spreading the disease to other animals by being bitten by a mosquito.
