Buffalo Mountain Animal Hospital is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care.
In addition we offer acupuncture and therapeutic laser therapy.
We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories.
We also work closely with referral hospitals when special diagnostic procedures are required.
The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, and a closely supervised hospitalization area.

After graduating from Veterinary College at Kansas State University I returned to Colorado to practice at a mixed animal hospital.
After deciding to concentrate on small animals I returned to school to pursue a small animal internship.
I moved to Summit County in 2000 and opened Buffalo Mountain Animal Hospital in 2004.
When I am not working, you can find me enjoying the slopes in the winter and cycling in the summer.
I earned my Bachelor of Science at the University of Michigan in Natural Resources/Environmental Science in 1989, and graduated with honors from Michigan State University Veterinary School in 1995 earning my DVM.

As a new client of our Buffalo Mountain Animal Hospital in Silverthorne, you can expect our full attention to your pets' needs.
When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we'll usher you into an examination room after checking in your pet.
In most cases, one of our veterinary technicians will start by asking about your pet's medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor.
Then, one of our veterinarians will examine your pet, ask you further questions and then may recommend diagnostic tests if needed.
When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we'll usher you into an examination room after checking in your pet.

Please be advised that until further notice, Buffalo Mountain Animal Hospital is open for regular appointments Monday-Friday.
From the I-70 Silverthorne exit you will want to take a left hand turn off the exit ramp if traveling west, or a right hand turn if heading east on I-70.
This will put you on Highway 6 as though you are heading toward Keystone, turn right at the fourth stop light (heading west on I-70) or third stop light( if heading east on I-70) into the Red Mountain Plaza (Red Mountain Grill is the most visible business).
