Meet Our Staff

Jane has a Bachelor's Degree in biology and has worked in various fields, including organic vegetable farming, early childhood education, and as an English/Spanish medical interpreter.
She is thrilled to be a part of Kohn Animal Hospital because, just as when she was a kid, she still wants to pet every dog she sees walking down the street!
She currently lives in Highland Park with her cat, Brenda, and gets her dog fix as a volunteer at Community Animal Rescue Effort in Skokie.
My name is Alec Sanchez and I recently finished my degree in Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign this Spring of 2021.

Mass Removal
Report
During the course of life, animals can develop masses.
Sometimes these masses can be malignant (cancerous) or sometimes they are benign.
We can evaluate masses and offer appropriate medical treatment, from various biopsy techniques to surgical removal.
We require a pre-surgical consult prior to scheduling mass removals so that we can discuss a treatment plan with you.

Dentistry
Report
Periodontal disease is one of the most common conditions in dogs and cats.
Nearly 70% of cats and 80% of dogs exhibit some type of periodontal disease by age 2. Regular dental cleaning and dental care is crucial to your pet's health.
Dental disease left untreated can contribute to irreversible oral bone loss, sinus infection, oral pain, kidney and liver problems, endocarditis, and diabetic complications.
We recommend annual dental care, which entails scaling, polishing, full mouth dental radiographs, and dental charting.
