Through preventive health care, nutritional information appropriate to the age of your pet and behavioral counseling, we want to help you keep your pet healthy, happy and active from puppy and kittenhood through their senior years. Doctor's hours are by appointment, 9-11:00 AM and 4:00 PM until closing. Appointment times can be flexible depending on your need, but appointments are strongly requested.
Emergencies can be seen at any time, but we do request that you call us before or as you are coming if at all possible. We accept payments via cash, local checks, all major credit cards, debit cards and Care Credit.

Altavista Animal Hospital was established in the early 1960's.
In 1988, with excitement and a passion for helping animals and owners, Dr. Bullins purchased the practice.
After working as a solo veterinarian for 5 years, the practice had grown to the extent that another veterinarian was required.
Dr. Stephanie Chmiel came on board at that time.
We continued expanding our services and on site medical equipment.
In 1998, a major expansion and renovation was undertaken to grow from an 1800 to a 3200 square foot facility.
