Laser therapy is a painless and drug-free tool that successfully treats many common conditions seen at our clinic. At Belle Chasse Veterinary Clinic, we understand that you want to keep you pet healthy as long as possible, and veterinary dental care is one of the most important factors for the longevity of your pet. One of the most important tools for veterinarians today is blood work and diagnostic testing and we at Belle Chasse Veterinary Clinic have the equipment to test these in-house.

Did you know that your pet can live longer by receiving regular dental care?
Without regular cleanings by a veterinarian, bacteria build up on the teeth and gums potentially causing damage to the liver, kidneys, and heart over time.

Oral disease in pets begins much the same way it does in people: bacteria in the mouth harden and form a substance known as plaque which adheres to the teeth.

Dermatology
Report
Does your pet scratch, bite, or lick their coat and skin excessively?
Are they displaying signs of hair loss and skin abrasions?
All dogs and cats occasionally itch, which is perfectly normal.
However, when the scratching continues for several days, or the skin and coat begin to suffer, it may indicate they are suffering from a dermatologic condition.
The experienced veterinarians at Belle Chasse Veterinary Clinic can help determine the cause of your pet's skin irritation.
If your pet is continually biting, licking, or scratching, they may be suffering from an allergic reaction to something in their environment.

Digital Radiography
Report
Diagnostic tools such as blood work analyzers and radiography (x-ray) units are critical for veterinary clinics, due to the fact that our pets are unable to communicate what is wrong when they have a problem.
This fact has led our veterinarians to invest in the most advanced x-ray unit available in veterinary medicine, a digital radiography unit.
Belle Chasse Veterinary Clinic serves the veterinary diagnostic needs of the animals in the Belle Chasse, Terrytown, and Gretna areas of Louisiana, and is pleased to offer our digital radiography system for our clients.

Heartworm Testing
Report
Were you aware that both dogs and cats can develop heartworm disease?
Heartworm disease has been diagnosed in all 50 states, but it is especially prevalent in warm, humid climates just like ours in southeast Louisiana.
Heartworms are parasites that can be transmitted to our pets through the bite of an infected mosquito.
Immature heartworm larva known as microfilaria can then migrate inside the pet through the mosquito bite wound.
Without the presence of a heartworm preventative, these juvenile worms begin to develop into worms twelve inches long and cause damage to organs including the lungs and heart, and can ultimately cause death to the infected dog or cat.
