Meet Our Team

Dr. Nathan Higgins earned his bachelor's degree in Biology from Virginia Tech.
He then went on to a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006.
Dr. Higgins practiced small animal medicine in Manassas, Virginia.
In late 2013, Dr. Higgins decided to move to the Eastern Shore and start Cape Charles Animal Hospital.
Dr. Higgins' professional interests include surgery, ultrasonography, and challenging medical cases.
Outside of work, Dr. Higgins enjoys spending time with his children, Autumn and Cayden.

Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open.
If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately.
If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 5 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has.
