Traveling with our pets can sometimes be a difficult task.
When you are unable to take your pet along with you, let them stay with the caring staff at Hazel Green Animal Hospital.
Our experienced boarding team will care for your pet, just like you do at home.
Dogs are exercised daily, and our cats are kept in a separate area of the facility, preventing stress that may be associated with the barking of our dog boarders.
Please remember to bring any special diet foods and medications your pet may need during their stay, as well as any blankets or toys that may help your furry friend feel at home.

Dental Care
Report
Most people realize how important dental care is for people, but did you know oral health is equally important for pets?
Studies show that both dogs and cats need to begin regular dental cleanings as young as one year of age.
Without this regular cleaning and brushing, your pet will soon develop a thin layer of bacteria on their teeth and gum line.
These bacteria then begin to harden to form tartar and plaque in the mouth of your pet.
Left unchecked, these germs can cause tooth decay and gum disease, making it difficult for your dog or cat to eat most foods.

Dermatology
Report
Skin issues including irritation and itching are a common problem for our furry friends.
Many times, allergies are to blame for skin and ear problems we treat at Hazel Green Animal Hospital.
Parasites including fleas, lice, mites and scabies are also a common cause of skin conditions in the northern Alabama area.
Determining the underlying cause of your pet's skin disorder is the first priority of our doctors.
Examination and diagnostic testing help our veterinarians determine the cause, and proper medication or treatment can begin.
