Combining conventional and holistic medicine to provide a longer, healthier life for your pet. At Tally Oaks Veterinary Wellness Center, we offer your pet a combination of holistic (complementary/alternative) medical care and conventional medical care. After reviewing your pet's history, diet, lifestyle, and conducting a comprehensive examination, we determine the best combination of both forms of therapy allowing for a customized approach that is unique to each pet.

From puppy to kitten care, to geriatric pets, our office located in northern Virginia provides your pet with a lifetime of comprehensive, integrative health care. Our mission is to provide you with the highest level of integrative veterinary medicine in a relaxed and caring atmosphere for both you and your pet. You pet's health and overall well-being is our top priority.

Our pets provide so much happiness and stress relief for us, it's time we think about doing the same for them! Dental disease is a common issue among household pets that can lead to serious health problems if left untreated.

Our Team
Report
Yes, a VMD is the same as a DVM!
The only difference is that Tania graduated from University of Pennsylvania, and the degree is written in Latin.
She had the storybook childhood, wonderful parents and a great brother, grew up on a small farm in Fleetwood, PA, had dogs, cats, horses, goats, sheep, chickens and even a couple cows.
She knew she was going to be a veterinarian before she made it to elementary school and had plenty of animals to play doctor with.
Her passion for learning and her natural ability to interact with people and animals made her career choice very logical.
Integrative Veterinary Care
Report
Integrative Veterinary Care - combining compassionate, conventional and holistic medicine to provide a longer, stress-free, healthier life for your pet.
Conduct thorough examinations that incorporate holistic principles such as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) along with conventional western medicine.
We want our clients to get involved in their pet's health care, ask questions, demand more answers and take an active part in keeping their pet healthy.
We are constantly incorporating more ideas and completing more training to become the best integrative veterinary wellness center in the area.
Fear Free Certified
Report
What does Fear Free mean?
The Fear Free initiative is a nationally recognized movement that seeks to eliminate fear from veterinary visits through educating both veterinary professionals and pet owners about Fear Free techniques.
Currently we have two Fear-free trained professionals in our practice.
For many pets and their owners, going to the veterinarian can cause feelings of fear, anxiety, and stress.
Stressful veterinary visits are problematic for pets, pet owners, and veterinary healthcare team members.
Testimonials
Report
The care we've received at Tally Oaks (this incident and several others) has always been fantastic.
She's reasonable and also no guilt when you decide not to do something "optional."
I tell everyone I have the best vet.
I can't say enough about Tally Oaks; We have a variety of different animals and use a couple different vets to best suit their needs.
Dr. Tania Woerner has always been extremely responsive in emergency situations and she happens to be our go-to barn cat vet (you know how those barn cats can get into fights!).
