River Road Animal Hospital is so much more than a place for your pets to get their check-ups or go when they aren't feeling well. We are fearlessly dedicated to the compassionate care of your pets, no matter what kind of animal they are! Our work is dedicated to loving your pets as much as you do, while combining our skills, knowledge, and experiences to help your best friends live their best, healthiest lives!

We do great veterinarian work in a whole new way! No quick, disconnected exams here! We want to know you. We want to know your pets. We want real conversations about your pets' wellness, illness, and opportunities for future prevention. This was my pups first time here and she felt so comfortable, happy, and well cared for throughout her visit! Everyone on staff is professional, friendly, caring and compassionate.

No matter the reason we are there, we feel important, cared for and leave with a good feeling.

We are so excited to meet you and your pet(s), learn how we can serve you both best, and spend years getting to mesh all of our families together.
Our staff emphasizes wholistic care for the pets you entrust to us.
What does wholistic care mean?
It means that we consider every part of your pet to achieve and maintain optimum health: thorough preventative care and a nutrition review.
We also consider ownership counseling and pet behavior as viable treatment discussions.
We utilize both conventional and alternative approaches to medicine (such as supplements, laser, acupuncture, behavior modification, etc.) to create and ensure a well rounded approach to pet care.

Other Pets
Report
Our love for pets certainly extends far beyond cats and dogs!
In our experience, the most valuable resource to owning any kind of pet, but especially a rarer animal, is to do your research and understand your pets' unique care needs.
Do you know the correct enclosure temperature and humidity for your iguana?
Or that your guinea pig needs Vitamin C supplements?
That rabbits can't vomit and a guinea pig is the only mammal susceptible to Scurvy?
Do you know how to prevent your cockatoo from feather picking?
