Pet Dental Care
Report
If your pet has brown or yellow teeth, bad breath, is having difficulty eating, or pawing at their mouth, these could all be signs of dental disease.
Dental care is vital to the overall health of any pet.
Prevention is key as dental disease in pets can eventually lead to health issues with the heart, liver and kidneys, and can affect the entire body through the bloodstream.
Did you know that 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats over three years of age suffer from some form of dental disease?
Skin, Ears & Allergy Issues
Report
From allergies to parasites, infections to autoimmune diseases - Harbor Springs Vet has the experience to treat your pet's chronic skin, ears and allergy issues.
Left untreated, pets can lose their hair and itching can cause open wounds and sores which can develop into skin infections.
Dr. Kowalski and his team will do everything possible to get your pets some relief.
First we'll complete a comprehensive veterinary exam to determine the cause of your pets' itchiness.
Then we'll work with you to provide both a short-term and long-term plan of care.
Annual Exams and Consultations
Report
Even healthy pets should be going to the vet for regular exams and checkups.
These checkins are a critical component of your pets' health care and help us create baselines for when something is wrong.
We advise all pet owners to bring their animals in for routine annual examinations and for senior pets to be seen twice a year.
Seeing you and your pets for regular checkups and blood work allows our veterinarians to establish a relationship and create trust to make sick visits easier.
We have experience and compassion treating anxious pets and creating life-long bonds and trust with even the hardest patients.
Pet Diet & Nutritional Counseling
Report
Nutrition and proper weight gain plays an important role in the health of your pet throughout their life.
As dogs and cats age, their nutritional needs change, from puppy and kitten to adults and senior pets, their food and diet should accommodate their changing needs.
Then there are also special foods and diets made to help pets with certain diseases and conditions.
It is important to discuss your pets' diets with our staff every time you visit our clinic.
A very common problem we often see in pets is obesity.
