Mary Snyder, DVM, was born and raised in Morganton, North Carolina.
She attended North Carolina State University for her undergraduate work and graduated from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987.
She received her certification in Low Stress Handling in 2016.
She regularly volunteers with Meals on Wheels in Durham County.
The application of science through hands-on patient care drew Mary into the veterinary field.
She enjoys the chance to interact with clients, their pets, and their families.
Our lobby is designed with separate entrances and waiting areas for cats and dogs to provide them with a low-stress environment.
Please check in at the front desk when you arrive.
Please bring any previous medical records on your pet as well as information about your pet's current medications, specific diet, and travel history.
You may find it helpful to take a quick photo of your pet's food and medications or supplements so that you can have them available during your visit.
If you are new to our practice, please contact your previous veterinarian to have your pet's veterinary records sent to us via fax or email before your appointment time.
In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service, and minimizing costs, we do NOT bill or offer payment plans.
CareCredit offers veterinary financing plans for unexpected pet illness and expenses.
You can apply at our hospital online for immediate approval, or apply yourself online at: www.
We believe in high-quality veterinary medicine and offering the best care available.
The extent of care given to any pet is determined ultimately by its owner.
We can only make clients aware of products and services available to them, guiding them in choices regarding the most important health options for their pet.
Only 12-15% of Veterinary Clinics in the United States and Canada meet this high standard of practice.
These standards pertain to facilities, equipment, practice methods, and management.
The purpose of AAHA is to enhance the abilities of veterinarians to provide quality medical care to companion animals; enable veterinarians to successfully conduct their practices and maintain their facilities with high standards of excellence; and to meet the public's need as they relate to the delivery of small animal veterinary medicine.
The purpose of Certification in Low Stress Handling is to provide the teaching content needed to understand and improve the individual or veterinary hospital's ability to create a low stress environment and handle animals in a less stressful manner.
Coursework for this Certification goes beyond the expert teachings of Dr. Sophia Yin and includes improvements to the hospital's design, preparation of and for patients prior to a visit, the use of special tools and sedative agents, and the development of important hands-on skills.
