Pets are our best friends and loyal companions, and at Miller Place Animal Hospital, we welcome them as part of our family. Our AAHA-accredited practice has been part of the community since 1969, and our Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) have been part of our staff for more than 30 years. Our goal has never changed: to provide high quality medicine and compassionate care for our patients.

We place a strong emphasis on preventative health care and believe early intervention plays a vital role in keeping the animals we love happy and healthy. We gladly welcome dogs, cats, and pocket pets to our hospital, where they receive compassionate care in a warm, friendly environment by a team of experienced professionals. Call (631) 744-2050 to schedule an appointment with a veterinarian!

Did you know accreditation is required for human hospitals, but is voluntary for animal hospitals? In 1933, a group of veterinary professionals seeking to promote high-quality standards in animal practices throughout North America founded the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).

Dogs and cats are like people in many ways, including their health needs, so it's important to meet those needs so your pet can be with you for as long as possible.
At Miller Place Animal Hospital, we believe that preventive care is the best way to accomplish this goal while promoting a good quality of life for your pet.
There are many health conditions that pets are prone to, including dental disease, parasites, and obesity, but with routine wellness exams, we can prevent these and other conditions.
It's important to vaccinate a new puppy or kitten within their first few months of life.
Ideally, the first set of boosters should be given to your pet at 6 to 8 weeks of age.
Essential vaccines every pet should get help protect them from dangerous and deadly diseases, some of which can be contracted to humans.
As a puppy or kitten gets older, they receive less antibodies from their mother's milk that help give them protection.
Even though your cute, furry baby is getting stronger and bigger after a couple of months, their bodies are still not strong enough to battle many potential infections.
Does your pet have bad breath or swollen gums?
These are two common signs of gum disease, so if the answer is yes, it's time to schedule a cat or dog teeth cleaning.
Gum disease affects more than 50% of all dogs and cats over the age of 3, which is why maintaining your pet's oral health is so important.
With regular wellness exams, professional cleanings (as needed), and at-home dental care, you can prevent oral infections.
You can also prolong your pet's lifespan, since many oral problems can lead to heart, liver, and kidney disease if left untreated.
Dr. Galvis provides spaying, neutering, complex abdominal procedures, and more for Miller Place and surrounding communities.
Safety and quality of service are our highest priorities.
Therefore, we follow the most current pet surgery guidelines to help ensure your pet's complete comfort and safety.
In order for our animal hospital to run efficiently, our doctors perform all non-emergency surgeries on scheduled days.
6-8 hours before surgery day, refrain from feeding your pet any food or treats and limit water.
