Dr. Deirdre Brandes founded Rancho Santa Fe Veterinary Hospital in 2005. We are located at the Vons Shopping Center off Lomas Santa Fe between the We-R-Fabrics and 24 Hour Fitness. Since early in the pandemic we have witnessed a significant increase in the need for our veterinary services. The demand was so great, we have not accepted new clients and instead made our current patients our top priority.
Recently, we also have suffered the same staffing issues as seen throughout the service industry, making it difficult for us to provide the same high standard of patient care from Monday through Saturday. To balance your needs and the wellness of our staff, we will be closed on the following days: Thursday 9/2, Monday 9/6 (Labor Day), Thursday 9/16 and Thursday 9/30.
We apologize for any inconvenience. We are a five doctor general veterinary practice. Dr. Deirdre Brandes, Dr. Anaika Dayton, Dr. Sophie Steele, Dr. Meghan McIntosh, and Dr. Tara Haley primarily treat dogs and cats. We are a full-service veterinary hospital.

Our Mission
Report
From an early age, Dr. Deirdre Brandes knew she wanted to become a veterinarian.
Growing up, she volunteered at a number of veterinary hospitals and animal shelters in San Diego.
After she graduated from Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine she chose to return to her hometown of San Diego and begin practicing.
She immediately knew that she had made the right choice to pursue her passion of veterinary medicine.
Eventually, she had a dream of opening her own veterinary hospital.
It would be a hospital comprised of some of the best veterinarians and support staff she had the opportunity to meet.
