By the time he was five years old, Todd Zink knew he wanted to become a veterinarian. Since birth, he had been surrounded by all types of animals-dogs, cats, ducks, fish, hamsters, and even chameleons, cockatiels, and Amazon parrots! Such a colorful menagerie of pets instilled a love of animals in Todd from a very young age. Born and raised in Joliet, Illinois, Todd started pursuing his dream of performing veterinary medicine even before college.
He spent many years volunteering and observing at local veterinarian's offices and kennels, gaining valuable experience that-along with his significant academic achievements-led to his acceptance at Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. At the ripe age of 23 (the youngest person in his class!) Dr. Zink graduated with his DVM degree and started his veterinary career.
Dr. Zink took over as the owner and medical director of Roselle Animal Hospital in December of 2012. At Roselle, he covers all aspects of veterinary medicine, including illness, trauma and emergencies, wellness care, dietary counseling, behavioral counseling, and certifying pets for travel, but he has a special interest in dentistry and surgery and wants to advance the care provided to his clients in those areas.
