South Texas Vet Clinic is a well-established, full-service, small and Large animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care.
We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories.
We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required.
The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas.

Larry is a San Antonio native, and graduated from Texas A&M in 1986.
Following graduation, he worked in a mixed practice for a year in south Texas, then was in a small animal only practice in Dallas.
His goal was to bring the quality of medicine practiced in the big city to a rural area and apply it to all species.
The original location was in a rented facility, and then the current location was established in 1992.
He obtained a masters in Beef Cattle Production Medicine/Epidemiology from the University of Nebraska in 2000, and is currently a member of the Academy of Veterinary Consultants (president), the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, Academy of Rural Veterinarians (co-founder), Coastal Bend Veterinary Medical Association, and Society for Theriogenology.

She and Larry were married prior to his attending veterinary school, and after initially putting him through school, she worked in public accounting for a number of years until the clinic was self-sufficient.
She has 2 sons Danny, and Tommy, along with 3 cats, 2 dogs, horses and cattle.
Jane is in charge of personnel, accounting, and inventory.

I've been employed approximately 15 years with South Texas Vet Clinic as a Receptionist/Asst.
She and Larry were married prior to his attending veterinary school, and after initially putting him through school, she worked in public accounting for a number of years until the clinic was self-sufficient.

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment.
Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable.
Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
Walk-in's are welcome, but if someone has an appointment, they may be seen before you unless you have an emergency.
For your convenience, drop-off' appointments are available.
A 'drop off' means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours.
