Galway Veterinary Hospital
Sole practitioner James H. Smith, Jr., D.V.M., envisioned a full-service animal facility providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for his patients. We take our responsibility seriously as your continuously engaged partner in the health and wellness of your pet. The hospital has maintained continuous accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association since 1998.

Only approximately 14% of small animal facilities in North America can claim the distinction of accreditation, so we are very proud of our accomplishment. Our exceptionally-qualified staff is continuously committed to achieving the highest standards of excellence. We offer complete medical, laboratory, diagnostic imaging, dental, and surgical services to provide the best possible care for our highly-valued patients for pediatric through geriatric life stages.

We promote responsible pet ownership, preventative health care, and health-related educational opportunities for our clients. The Galway Veterinary Hospital proudly serves Galway and the surrounding communities of Amsterdam, Ballston Spa, Johnstown, and Gloversville, in addition to many other communities in Saratoga, Montgomery, and Fulton counties.

Our hospital staff consists of well-trained and highly qualified personnel including New York State Licensed Veterinary Technicians.
These health care professionals constantly strive to provide the best care possible for our patients.
Boarding
Report
All pets are required to be up-to-date on vaccines and provide proof of a current negative fecal sample examination.
For our canine boarders, current Distemper-Parvo (DHLPP), Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines are necessary.
Our feline friends must have current Distemper (FVRCP) and Rabies vaccines.
Pets are housed in climate-controlled accommodations selected by their owners.
If for some reason the chosen accommodation is not compatible and your pet becomes anxious, distressed, aggressive, or destructive, they will be moved to a more suitable room, run, or cage.
Boarding Rates
Report
We are excited to offer boarding for our feline friends.
Our new cat room, complete with kitty condos, offers a quiet and relaxing getaway for your pet.
The feline boarding is located away from our canine boarders to help decrease the noise and stress some cats feel when around dogs.
Our kitty condos offer a unique boarding experience to your pet.
Each condo is complete with a platform to allow your cat to "get up high" and feel more comfortable.
If you want to offer a little more room, let us know!
