The Crystal Lake Veterinary Hospital has been serving the McHenry County area since 1958 and moved to its current location in 1998.
We provide a welcoming environment and state-of-the-art technologies to ensure the highest quality of care.
We are a full-service veterinary medical facility with 3 doctors, 1 chiropractor and an experienced technical staff, providing the best possible medical, surgical and dental care for our patients.
Further, we partner with a specialized, Board-certified, traveling surgeon for major orthopedic procedures.

On weekdays, we prefer to see our clients by appointment to allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures.
Emergency and euthanasia cases may take precedence over regularly scheduled appointments, so an occasional appointment delay is inevitable.
On Saturdays, we see patients on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We accept our last walk-in at 11:30 a.m.
If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please call us directly at 815.459.3380.
We appreciate at least 24 hours notice for all changes and / or cancellations.

Susan first came to the clinic as a client and loved it so much that she begged Dr. Nick to give her a job!
She is now in her 19th year at CLVH, after retiring from a 20 year executive career at Motorola.
Susan dedicates her life to her two Doberman Pinschers, her Italian Greyhound mix, and her three kitties.
She has a special interest in rescuing both senior pets and those with medical needs.
When not at the clinic, she is passionate about canine training, gardening, and horses.
Susan holds both a Bachelor of Science and Masters degree in Business Administration.

The purpose for these activities is to feel for pain, swelling, growths or masses, and any other abnormalities that may create future, more serious problems.
Our vet will also ask you questions about your pet's diet, exercise, behavior patterns, eating & elimination patterns, and overall lifestyle.
