New Cat Info
Report
We strongly recommend neutering.
Neutering helps prevent prostate disease, urinary infections, various tumors, hernias, roaming, fighting, aggression and inappropriate urination.
Neutered cats tend to live longer healthier lives with less problems.
Also, neutered cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem.
The neutering surgery can done on any male cat that is over 5 pounds, is adequately immunized and doesn't have any concurrent skin infections or other health problems that would add risk to the procedure.

Flea & Tick Control
Report
The most likely months for fleas to find their way inside your house are July to November, unless you are visited by a stray or wild animal, or a pet that has fleas.
Adult fleas survive the winter if they are on an animal.
Cocooned fleas hatch out when they sense good conditions such as humidity, or pets.
Any cat or dog with skin problems should be treated every 3 weeks with Advantage or Revolution unless they react poorly to both products.
This will prevent fleas from contributing to their problems.

Feeding Your Cat
Report
Kittens generally can eat as much as they want.
It is helpful to feed them at least a little dry and canned food even if you prefer one type of food over the other.
If you generally feed dry but your cat becomes sick or has urinary problems then canned food might be easier or better to feed, but if your cat has never eaten canned food before it may not want to start when we need it to.
Most adult cats are overweight.
They only need about a 1/2 cup food per day.
If your cat is very demanding when it comes to food you may need to spread out his 1/2 cup meal into several small meals throughout the day.
