Red Hill Animal Health Center was opened in Carbondale Colorado in June of 2000 by Dr. Judi Leake. In 2013, Dr. James Ziegler and his wife Kelly became the new owners of Red Hill Animal Health Center. Our promise is to offer every healthcare option possible, then create a care plan that supports your philosophy and your goals. By working within this philosophy, we are able to offer individually designed, affordable service to every pet owner.
Red Hill Animal Health Center provides complete veterinary health and wellness care, including surgery and dentistry. We also offer overnight boarding, daycare and grooming service. In addition, we offer a wide variety of specialized prescription and non-prescription diets and nutritional products through our in-house or on-line pharmacy, for your pets health and maintenance.
All is offered with one goal in mind: giving your pet excellent care while staying within your individual budget. This customized approach to veterinary care makes us special!

Meet Our Team

Kelly has been working in the veterinary health field for over 25 years.
Her love of animals started when she was a child on her family's farm in rural Michigan working with her mother, who bred and showed Bouviers and Old English Sheepdogs.
Along with LOTS of dogs and cats, they also had horses, cows, ducks, geese, chickens, goats, pigs and rabbits!
Prior to coming to join the staff at Red Hill, Kelly worked as the nursing staff supervisor and triage nurse at a specialty practice in Denver.
She is married to Dr. James Ziegler and has a son, Cole, who is an avid skier and lacrosse player.

Surgical Deposit Policy

Red Hill Animal Health Center will require a deposit on all surgical procedures due at the time of scheduling, to reserve your pets surgery date.
This surgical deposit will be charged to your pets account and applied to the balance of the surgery on the day of your pet's procedure.
If the client cancels or reschedules the surgical appointment before 72 hours, the deposit will be refunded or may be transferred to a new surgical date.
In the event the client cancels with less than 72 hours notice, the deposit may be forfeited or transferred to a rescheduled surgery date.
This surgical deposit will be charged to your pets account and applied to the balance of the surgery on the day of your pet's procedure.

2. We do accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) checks and cash.
All credit cards must be signed by the owner of the card.
3. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well.
Red Hill Animal Health Center understands this and is able to make some special arrangements through the CareCredit program.
