After a life that began with a cat sleeping in her crib as an infant, and always thereafter a 3 pet household, Dr. MacInnes grew up loving her family pets, and all animals wild and domestic generally.
Every pet's illness and passing strongly impacted and strengthened her desire to care for animals.
During her Bachelors degree at Bowdoin College, where she studied premed, she made the decision to pursue animal medicine instead, and set off to pursue Veterinary medicine and surgery.
She graduated from her home town University, the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph with honours at the top of her class in 2003.
