Laser Surgery
Report
Laser surgery is an important medical breakthrough that we utilize often.
LASER stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.
A Laser is an opto-electronic device that produces highly concentrated light rays to cut tissue by vaporizing through cell layers.
Interaction of laser light with tissue provides a fundamentally different approach to surgery.
In laser surgery, a highly focused laser beam can efficiently ablate (either vaporize or chip away) the living tissue.
At the same time, it seals (welds) capillaries, small blood vessels, lymphatics, and nerve endings, with significant benefits to both patients and surgeons.

Orthopedics
Report
Before performing orthopedic surgery, a proper diagnosis of orthopedic disease is required.
We begin with a thorough exam of the patient along with properly positioned digital x-rays and palpation of the affected part of the body.
An extensive client consult is then conducted to explain the diagnosis, pathology and patient's treatment options and plan.
Kingsburg Veterinary Clinic is proud to offer comprehensive care for all fractures and dislocations seen in cats and dogs.
Almost all fractures and other orthopedic injuries have a surgical and /or management solution and most have several possible acceptable treatments, no matter how bad it might appear.

Dental
Report
Periodontal disease starts when plaque attaches to the tooth surface; plaque is a transparent adhesive fluid is composed of mucin, sloughed epithelial cells and aerobic, and gram positive cocci.
Plaque starts forming within two days after a professional scaling and polishing is performed.
If plaque is not removed the mineral salts in food will precipitate to form hard dental calculus, or tartar.
Rough calculus covered plaque is irritating to the gum tissue and changes the pH in the mouth allowing bacteria to survive.
