Hospital Policies
Report
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment.
Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable.
Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
For your convenience, 'drop-off' appointments are available.
A 'drop off' means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us until the doctor can examine them.
Usually we will ask you to leave your pet with us sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients.

Report
The biggest difference between a Veterinarian and a human doctor is our patient's cannot tell us what's wrong with them.
We weigh every pet that comes into Highland Pet Hospital, because your pet's weight has a major impact on their overall health.
Here in Florida, it is always flea and tick season.
Certainly, fleas can present themselves as a bigger problem in our hot summer months, but it is never cold enough for fleas and ticks to no longer be a problem.
Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal disease in pets in the United States and many other parts of the world.
