Services
The Jefferson Pet Clinic, was founded by Dr. Duane Huwe over 40 years ago.
He dedicated his professional life to veterinary medicine and provided quality, competent and compassionate care of pets throughout Morton, IL and its surrounding communities.
The passing of Dr. Huwe in 2007 resulted in Dr. Michael Sanborn and his wife, Alexandra, purchasing the clinic from Dr. Huwe's children.
The Sanborns renamed the clinic Heartland Veterinary Clinic to better describe the area it serves.
After Dr. Sanborn graduated from the University Of Illinois School Of Veterinary Medicine, he was uniquely qualified to carry on the clinic tradition, having worked as Dr. Huwe's relief veterinarian for 4 years.
Heartland Veterinary Clinic provides a full range of preventative care services to help your pet live a longer, happier life and to increase the odds of detecting problems before signs appear and before they become severe and costly.
The earlier potential issues are detected, the more favorable the outcome.
Dr. Sanborn makes his annual preventative care recommendations based on the guidelines established by the American Veterinary Medical Association and American Animal Hospital Association.
Our team then customizes his recommendations based on your pet's hereditary factors, age, medical history and lifestyle.
Heartland Veterinary Clinic is pleased to provide veterinary supervised boarding for your pet(s).
We provide climate controlled runs and kennels to keep your pet(s) comfortable during his/her stay.
While staying with us, dogs are walked twice a day in our fenced yard.
If you pet requires additional play time, we offer extra interaction time for a nominal price.
For the protection of our guests and patients, all boarding guests must be current on vaccinations.
We are a flea-free facility; all pets found to have fleas will receive treatment, so as not to contaminate their surroundings or infest those around them.
Heartland Veterinary Clinic always welcomes new patients and new clients!
